Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) teams are highly valued experts in any industry sector that handles natural gas. The skillset these personnel possess is critical as regulators, investors, and third-party watchdogs continue to focus on methane emissions (some say disproportionately so). Satelytics is helping our customers with the “LD” of their LDAR programs by analyzing high-frequency and high spatial resolution satellite imagery and producing actionable alerts within hours.
Satelytics’ leak detection algorithms include quantification, location, and an image of the scene where the release occurred. You tell us when and where to “look,” and we handle the rest, allowing your team to focus on the “AR” part of LDAR.
We currently offer measurement of methane in two resolutions to fit the needs of your leak detection program:
Global Methane™ (M) and high-resolution methane (R) vs. third-party super-emitter measurement (L).
High-resolution methane measurement.
Our Global Methane™ solution is designed to help customers gain confidence in assessing their emissions, especially in light of the EPA’s super-emitter program. This solution is seeing rapid adoption due to the data source's high frequency and low cost while still providing some locational intelligence. Our high-resolution methane tool takes it to the next level, quantifying releases on individual pieces of equipment along a pipeline or on a well pad, and is the industry leader in remote methane measurement. Satelytics’ methane algorithms have been calibrated with our customers, who perform both controlled releases and field verification of alerts.
While not necessarily part of traditional LDAR programs, we also offer solutions for liquid leaks. Spilled hydrocarbons or produced water can be detected and quantified using the same imagery as our high-resolution methane algorithm, thus addressing two business challenges simultaneously for a single cost.
Maximize solutions from a single set of data.
Are you concerned about gas emissions other than methane? Looking to the future, we are building algorithms to address tomorrow’s new emissions challenges – carbon dioxide, NOx, SOx, and more.
